As per Bhojpuri film writer Vikas Singh, who is also a friend of Shyam Dehati, “Shyam lived in Bettiah district and was undergoing treatment at a hospital there due to Corona infection. But when his health deteriorated drastically on Sunday night, he was admitted to the BRD Medical Hospital in Gorakhpur today where he succumbed within an hour of being admitted.”
Vikas Singh told that Bhojpuri film’s popular actor Khesari Lal Yadav himself spoke to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s PA to arrange beds in a hospital for Shyam Dehati. Only after this, Shyam was brought from Bettiah to Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical Hospital via ambulance.
