Fellow radio veteran and close friend of Grant Shakoane, Wilson B Nkosi confirmed the news of the veteran DJ’s death to TimesLive.

The details around his death are still unknown at this time however, radio personality Tim Modise revealed that Shakoane was in a ‘serious condition’ as he described him as a ‘gentle giant’ last week on Twitter.
“Our friend & big brother, the radio ‘gentle giant’ Grant Shakoane is in serious condition at one of the hospitals in Joburg. His wife informs me that he’s been in this battle for a while. Join me in praying for his recovery. We love you #GrantShakoane,” wrote Tim Modise on Twitter.
In the early hours of the morning, Tim Modise tweeted about the death of Shakoane which had fans in mourning.
